island retreat for an active family

Work hard, play hard, relax hard. An active Washington DC family, whose weekend activities include marathon and triathlon training, decided to invest in some serious "down time" real estate. They found a bay-view lot on Gibson Island, just off the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland's Anne Arundel County. The lot came with a set of permitted architectural plans, but the plans lacked the details that would make this house feel like a home.

In conjunction with Andrew Law Interiors, aggregate developed a detailed set of interior architectural specifications, including an extensive millwork package covering most of the home, a reworked kitchen layout, custom vanities and fireplace mantels, a custom 3-story paneled staircase, and trim detailing throughout the home.
